## Creating a membership

Memberships let you package your content into subscription tiers with their own plans and pricing. Students join a membership, choose a plan, and get access to whatever courses and downloads that plan unlocks.

Go to **Users → Memberships** to see all your memberships. The top of the page shows three summary stats: total memberships, active plans, and members across all plans. Below that, filter by **All**, **Active**, **Inactive**, or **Archived**.

## Creating a membership

Click **+ New membership** in the top right. The setup flow has two steps.

### Step 1 — Basics

Enter a membership name (required) and a description that tells students what they get access to.

**Show in main menu** adds a header link labeled with the membership name to your portal’s navigation. It’s on by default — turn it off if you’d rather not surface the membership in the main menu yet.

Click **Continue** to move to the next step.

### Step 2 — Tiers

Add the plans members can choose from. For each plan, enter a name (e.g. Starter, Pro, Platinum) and set the pricing type:

- Free — no charge required to join this plan.
- Recurring — set a monthly price, a yearly price, or both.

You can mark one plan as the **Highlighted plan** to feature it on your pricing page.

Click **Add another plan** to add more tiers. You can fine-tune plan details, access rules, and billing settings after the membership is created.

## Deactivating a membership

Click **Deactivate** from the top right of any membership page. No new members can join and no renewals will process, but existing members keep their access until their current period ends. The membership stays in your list and can be reactivated.
