Exam Interface

The exam interface at eProfessor is designed to be user-friendly, intuitive, and efficient, providing a seamless experience for students taking assessments.

1. Dashboard Access:

• Upon logging into eProfessor and navigating to the student portal, you will find a choice of private, public, or course(s) and exam(s) you can register for (free or paid).

2. Course / Exam Selector:

• Once you log in or load public options, you will see a list of available courses or exams. If you do not see any courses or exams listed, your teacher may not have activated them or enrolled you. If that is the case, you may need to email your instructor.

• If you see a list of available courses or exams, you may click on one to launch. Depending on the settings set forth by your instructor, some may allow for multiple takes. If you have paused a course or exam previously, you might also be able to resume.

2. Course / Exam Details:

• Once a course or exam is selected, you can see how many times you can take it, the time limit (if any), and the passing score. If you were previously taking the course or exam and logged out, you can resume taking it. If you have completed the course or exam, you can view your score and even load it in its graded state.

3. Clean Layout:

• The interface features a clean, distraction-free layout. The course or exam page is generally uncluttered, focusing mainly on content, questions, and answers.

3. Question Display:

• Slides or questions are presented one at a time. Each is numbered, and the text is easily read with ample spacing.  Students will always see the name of the course or exam at the top left and can always exit by clicking on the home button in the top right.

4. Answering Questions:

• For multiple-choice questions, radio buttons or checkboxes are provided to select your answer. A text box is provided where you can type your answer for written responses. Other formats may include drop-down menus, matching pairs, or true/false options.

5. Navigation:

• A navigation panel or buttons allow you to move between questions. This may include “Next,” “Previous,” or “Submit” buttons. If permitted, you can skip questions and return to them later.

• The bottom left always shows the progress - the number of questions answered and how many more to go. Also, there is a question or slide number selector at the bottom right. If a question has been answered, it shows as gray and remains white if unanswered. Students can jump to any question or exam slide by clicking on its number.

6. Timer:

• A visible countdown timer is displayed, showing the remaining time for the exam. The timer is located at the top of the screen and counts down in real-time. The timer is color-coded green if ample time remains, shifting to yellow, then red as time passes.

7. Question Progress Indicator:

• A progress bar or question list is available, indicating how many questions you’ve completed and how many are left. This helps you manage your time effectively.

8. Save and Submit:

• Questions are saved automatically the moment you answer a question. Once you’ve completed the exam, a “Grade Me” button will appear, allowing you to finalize and submit your answers.

• Please note: The "Grade Me" button will not appear until all questions have been answered. You may need to use the number selector in the bottom right corner to see if all questions have been answered.

9. Review Functionality:

• If time allows, you will have the option to review your answers before submitting.

10. Feedback and Results:

• After submitting the exam, immediate feedback may be provided, depending on the instructor’s settings. This could include correct answers, explanations, and your score. Sometimes, results may be withheld until all students have completed the exam.

This exam interface is designed to be straightforward and supportive, ensuring that students can focus on demonstrating their knowledge without unnecessary distractions.
